This year’s Trans Youth Forum will have 2 additional tracks for Educators and Children/Families!
Educator Track by GLSEN Central NJ:
This program addresses concerns of teachers, counselors, and administrators serving students K-12. All youth-serving professionals and interested persons are invited to attend these sessions, which will include:
1) An educator experienced in inclusive LGBTQ health lessons and a counselor who has worked with many transgender students both of whom are experienced in providing education to colleagues about trans and gender non-conforming student concerns.
2) A session with a mental health professional –member of World Professional Association for Transgender Health–with broad experience of transgender youth clients.
3) Several pairs of students and parents bringing youth and family perspectives.
4)An update of legal requirements in New Jersey and the opportunity to explore a case study to probe the specific planning that a school must do for each unique transgender or gender non-conforming student.
A certificate of attendance will be provided for participants.
